I’ve been where you are.
I know what it’s like to build a business while juggling everything else life throws your way because I’ve lived it.
When I started Balance, I wasn’t just looking for a new career path, I was looking for a better way to support people like me: entrepreneurs, parents, and real humans trying to build something meaningful while keeping it all together.
How Balance Began
I grew up being taught the only path to financial security was working hard—really hard. That success came from long hours, sacrifice, and chasing the next milestone. So that’s exactly what I did.
After graduating from Brock University’s Goodman School of Business with a BBA in Accounting and Finance, I landed in Toronto’s financial district and quickly began to rise. At Sun Life Financial, I was named Rookie of the Year ,finished as the #2 advisor in the province, and received the Team Inspire Award—all within my first year.
With those early earnings, I started investing in real estate and building the future I thought I was supposed to chase
until life had other plans.
In 2017, newly married and expecting my first child, I returned to my small hometown to care for a family member through hospice. That experience changed everything. It made me question not just what I wanted to do—but how I wanted to live.
I realized I didn’t want to just build a business. I wanted to build a life rooted in purpose, impact, and flexibility. One where money was a tool, not the goal. Where success included family dinners, rest, and being present, not just financial returns.
That’s when I started Balance Accounting Services.
Today, I still believe in working hard—but I also believe in working smart. As a busy mom to four kids and a wife to a firefighter who works shift work, I’ve learned the value of systems, strategic decision-making, and building a business that supports your life, not the other way around. And that’s exactly what I help my clients do. Whether it’s simplifying their finances, planning for growth, or creating more ease day-to-day, my goal is to take the stress out of the numbers and help business owners feel confident, supported, and in control.
