Digital Bookkeeper

As a Digital Bookkeeper, you will take pride in managing accurate financial records, processing transactions efficiently, and contributing to reliable and strategic financial reporting. As part of the Balance team, you’ll play a key role in helping clients feel in control of their finances so they can lead their business with confidence.

Description:

What You’ll Be Responsible For:

  • Manage and maintain digital financial records for multiple clients using QuickBooks Online and Dext to ensure accurate and current bookkeeping

  • Complete all monthly bookkeeping activities

    • Process accounts payable and receivable transactions

    • Reconcile bank and credit card statements

    • Complete monthly activities and communicate when client file is ready for internal review and monthly financial reports

    • Communicate with clients to request, clarify and resolve outstanding items

    • Review and confirm financial records are complete for quarterly and annual HST filing

    • Prepare workpapers to support T1 and T2 tax filing annually

    • Communicate regularly with the Office Manager to address priorities and challenges

    • Take part in new client intakes, CRA audits, and ad-hoc project work

    • Act as a backup for weekly payroll processing, quarterly HST, and WSIB remittances

    • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a digital environment

  • Working knowledge of bookkeeping principles, financial and tax regulations

  • Experience with QuickBooks Online, Dext, and other cloud-based software preferred

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to keep accurate financial records

  • Reliable and accountable with a demonstrated track record of follow through

  • Leads with professionalism, integrity, and respect, and stays steady and focused, even when things shift or stretch

  • Works collaboratively and communicates with purpose, recognizing how their role supports both the Balance team and overall client success.
